The list of Blu-ray movie titles can be organized by release date including a list of new releases and releases coming soon. Titles can also be organized by price including a list of the lowest priced titles and those with the biggest discounts from the suggested retail price. It is also possible to organize the list by sales rank including all top sellers, just the top-selling titles that have already been released or just the top-selling preorders.
The Squid Rank is a weighted average of all the scores assigned by professional reviewers to a given title and the Blu-ray movie list can be sorted to show those titles with the highest consensus content score, video score, audio score, extras score and total score. These scores may also be viewed in a more compact tabular form using the score matrix view. Detailed technical specifications are gathered for each title and these can be seen at a glance using the video matrix view, the audio matrix view or the combined specs matrix view.
All of these variations of the Blu-ray movie list can be further refined by selecting from the advanced display options to narrow down the list by various content, video, audio, subtitle and extra feature criteria.
The current and previously recorded Amazon prices for Blu-ray movies along with discounts from the suggested retail price are displayed in a list to help track the best Blu-ray bargains. By default, all price changes are shown, but it is also possible to view just the price decreases, price increases or new title listings. The price list can also be sorted to show the lowest prices, biggest discounts and most recently listed titles, as well as filtered to show only titles that have already been released or those that are coming soon. Additional options to filter the list to only show changes above a specified change percentage and/or prices above a certain discount percentage are also available on the page.

Blu-ray movie reviews from a number of external websites and reviewers are presented in a convenient list of links along with the content, video, audio, extras and total scores from the reviews (if available) mapped onto a 100-point scale. 4-, 5- and 6-star systems as well as 10-point and 20-point scales are mapped onto the 100-point scale directly in even divisions from 0 to 100. Letter grade scores are mapped as follows:
| A+ | A | A- | B+ | B | B- | C+ | C | C- | D+ | D | D- | F+ | F/F- |
| 100 | 95 | 90 | 82.5 | 75 | 67.5 | 57.5 | 50 | 42.5 | 32.5 | 25 | 17.5 | 7.5 | 0 |
The difference between an individual reviewer's score and the weighted average score in each category is displayed in the list beneath the reviewer's score along with colors to indicate whether a given review is generally more positive (green) or negative (red) than the average. The list of movie reviews is sortable by each scoring category and can also be filtered to only show reviews from a particular site or reviewer.

Content, video, audio and extras scores collected from Blu-ray movie reviews are used to derive the Squid Rank, a weighted average of scores using a custom weighting function where reviewers that historically agree with their peers more often than not within a given scoring category are given a small amount of additional emphasis in the weighted average for that scoring category. This weighting function is applied not only to produce a score that is closer to a true consensus than a pure mathematical average, but also to help normalize to a certain extent the natural variations in scoring systems between sites and reviewers without altering the original scores themselves. After the weighted content, video, audio and extras scores have been derived for a title, an overall total score is calculated as four parts content score, four parts video score, three parts audio score and two parts extras score.
The list of Blu-ray movie rankings can be sorted by content score, video score, audio score, extras score and total score, as well as by top sellers or filtered to show the top-selling released titles or preorder titles.
Blu-ray movie releases that have won or were nominated for significant awards are shown in a sortable list. This listing includes Academy Awards, American Film Institute Awards, BAFTA Awards, Golden Globe Awards, Independent Spirit Awards, Razzie Awards, Sundance Film Festival Awards and TIME Magazine Awards.
Blu-ray movies available for rent from Netflix are shown in a list along with availability on DVD and for Instant Viewing. The rental list can be arranged to show the most recently listed titles, new releases and releases coming soon, as well as the top ranked titles by Netflix users. The rental list can be further filtered by genre and content rating on the page.

Screenshots from Blu-ray movies are captured directly from disc in full-resolution lossless PNG format and displayed in our screenshot gallery. Please note that the screenshots are taken from all parts of the source and may possibly contain spoilers or adult content. They have also been converted from the source for computer display and additionally may not accurately represent the full-motion experience, so they should never be taken as a final indicator of actual video quality. Screenshots are typically selected on the basis of compositional attractiveness, to represent memorable moments or to provide an overview of the content rather than to prove any point about video quality.
The BDInfo analysis tool was designed to collect video and audio technical specifications from Blu-ray movie discs, including disc size, playlist file contents as well as stream codec and bitrate details. Many of the detailed specifications available on this site, including the video bitrate charts, were gathered using this tool. The full source code for the BDInfo tool is also available for the curious. Suggestions for changes are always welcome, but it should be noted that its primary purpose is to collect Blu-ray disc specifications for this site and to allow others to collect the same specifications for personal enlightenment or for their own publications, so any requests beyond improvements to this usage pattern are not likely to be fulfilled.
Many of the pages on this site now depend on selecting a specific locale to determine release dates, title availability and pricing information. Foreign imports that are available from the stores in the selected locale, however, will still be shown in most cases and should be distinguised by a flag icon next to the title or other indicator showing the country of origin when this information is known. These imports also may show a blank price on certain pages which typically indicates that a title is only available from third-party sellers in new or used condition. Additionally, it is not uncommon for some region-free titles to be released across multiple countries in the exact same edition and packaging. In these cases, the title may be denoted as "worldwide" when this information is known, but may also sometimes be denoted as a USA release.
Region codes are shown for releases when this information is verified personally or by a reliable source and, to err on the side of caution, will be left blank until this occurs. We try our best to make sure the information on this website is accurate, but it is always recommended to double-check more than one source before making a purchasing decision based on some specific technical aspect - especially region coding which may prevent a given Blu-ray release from being played on your device. We recommend the Blu-ray Region Code Info and Blu-ray Disc Statistics websites as excellent alternative sources for region coding information and other technical data. If you are not already familiar with the Blu-ray region coding scheme or other technical aspects of the Blu-ray disc format, we also recommend reading the Wikipedia Blu-ray Disc article to get started.
